what is your photography style?

Recently I caught myself creating props and backdrops in line with typical, simple styles I have seen around me. Then, I remembered this image…

I created and captured this image around 2016. This image is a lot; a lot of color, textures and patterns… some might even say it’s too much but I think I’ve e always preferred things that are a little “too much”. Bring me all of the colors, glitters, patterns, textures and varieties because it makes my heart happy! That’s not even taking interest account how extra gorgeous sweet Karlin is!

I was in a sweet spot with my business when I photographed this precious baby and I had finally gained enough confidence to branch out and create images that I loved without worrying about any opinion outside of mine and my clients. I noticed that my clients stopped showing up with pinterest boards as they had in the beginning of my career and started telling me that they trusted me and were excited to see what I would create. This image might not seem super unique to you but I was so excited to start creating my own backdrops rather than purchasing them from a photography backdrop store. I could pull in all of the colors I loved, and fabrics that would compliment the things my clients wanted to incorporate while adding my own creative touch. I still get a thrill out of finding beautiful fabrics, textured layers and unique props at antique stores and little shops. I am always on a treasure hunt for photography inspiration it seems. So, Im thankful for this image and its visible reminder to stay true to what I love, to step outside of the box and embrace bright colors, big smiles and fun!
